Drones launched a massive attack on Moscow – video

On the night of May 17, a number of Russian military-industrial complex and energy facilities in Moscow and the Moscow region were struck. The strikes targeted an oil depot in Durikino, an oil refinery in Kapotnya, the Angstrom microelectronics plant, and the Raduga Design Bureau, which develops cruise missiles.

Astra reports on this.

In addition to industrial and infrastructure facilities in Dubna and the Soniachnohirskyi district, damage has been confirmed at the Elma Technology Park in Zelenograd—a site that brings together 150 companies, some of which are involved in the Russian defense industry. In Krasnogorsk, a strike was recorded on an apartment building in the Putilkovo neighborhood, where several apartments were damaged, but there were no casualties. In the Istrinsky District, a high-rise building and six private homes were damaged when a UAV crashed in Dedovsk and the village of Agrogorodok; three men and one woman sustained injuries of varying severity there. Another fire broke out in a private home in the village of Subbotino in the Naro-Fominsky District.

Amid strikes on the oil depot in Durikino, the Angstrom plant, and the Raduga Machine-Building Plant in the Moscow region, the “Carpet” plan was activated, temporarily paralyzing operations at Sheremetyevo Airport—which was also under attack—and other major Moscow air hubs, causing massive flight delays. Emergency services continue to deal with the aftermath at all incident sites.

As a result of a large-scale nighttime drone attack on the Moscow region, at least three people were killed and four others were injured. According to official data from the governor of the Moscow Region, air defense forces began repelling the massive raid around 3 a.m., recording drone strikes and debris falling in several municipalities. The victims of the attack were residents of the private sector: in the Starbeevo neighborhood of the Khimki urban district, a drone struck a residential building, killing a woman and destroying the structure, under whose rubble search and rescue operations are ongoing. Two more men were killed in the village of Pogorelki near Mytishchi, where debris from the drone fell on a construction site.

On the morning of May 16, Moscow also came under drone attack, causing airports in the Russian capital to temporarily suspend operations.

Throughout May 15 and into the night of May 16, Ukrainian defense forces carried out a series of precision strikes on key Russian military infrastructure targets, inflicting damage both on Russian territory and in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, where the enemy concentrates its equipment, ammunition, and personnel.
