Fico congratulated Madyar on his victory and spoke about the Druzhba pipeline
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico congratulated Péter Magyar, leader of the Tisa party, on his victory in Hungary’s parliamentary elections.
Fico stated that he is ready for close cooperation with Hungary’s new government.
According to him, Slovakia is interested in friendly and mutually beneficial relations with Budapest and also supports the revival of the Visegrad Group format.
Separately, he emphasized the importance of cooperation in the energy sector and mentioned the need to resume operations of the Druzhba oil pipeline.
Fico noted that Central European countries are interested in the stable operation of this route.
As a reminder, according to the results of 98.93% of the votes counted, the Tisa party won 69.35% of the vote. This gives the opposition 138 seats in parliament, allowing it to form a constitutional majority on its own.
Trump declined to comment on the defeat of Orbán’s friend in the Hungarian elections.
