Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine will help Romania strengthen its airspace defenses following an incident involving a Russian drone that struck a residential building.
The head of state announced this in an evening address.
According to Zelenskyy, he spoke by phone with Romanian President Nicușor Dan, during which the two leaders discussed the consequences of the nighttime attack and further cooperation in the field of security.
The president noted that people were injured as a result of the drone strike on the residential building and wished them a speedy recovery.
“We agreed with the president that Ukraine will support Romania in this situation. And our teams, military personnel, and specialists will work to strengthen air defense,” Zelenskyy stated.
He emphasized that Ukraine is ready to support Romania’s security, as Romania has been helping Kyiv counter Russian aggression for many years.
According to the president, Ukrainian and Romanian military personnel are in constant contact, and cooperation between the two sides will continue to counter potential threats from Russia.
“We will remain in constant communication with Romania and will continue to work together to protect lives from all potential Russian threats,” the head of state emphasized.
