On June 29, law enforcement officers detained a mother of many children from Kharkiv who, according to the investigation, distributed adult content featuring her 14-year-old daughter. All the circumstances are currently being established, and the investigation is ongoing.
Cyberpolice officers and investigators from the National Police’s Main Investigative Directorate determined that the woman, in exchange for monetary compensation, organized live streams on private online platforms where she forced the child to undress.
Operatives from the Cyberpolice Department uncovered information regarding the broadcasting of child pornography. During the international operation “Renewed Hope” (VIDFT), organized by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (ICE HSI) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Cybercrime Center in Bucharest, Ukrainian police identified a resident of the Kharkiv region involved in the crime.
During authorized searches in the Kharkiv region, equipment was seized and digital evidence of the illegal activity was secured.
National Police investigators informed the woman that she was suspected of sexual assault. She has been taken into custody. The suspect faces up to 15 years in prison for her actions.
The victim and her two young brothers were removed from the family by child welfare services in coordination with child protection authorities. The children are currently receiving psychological counseling, the National Police clarified.
