France is negotiating a mission to protect shipping in the Strait of Hormuz

France continues to actively plan and engage in diplomatic efforts to establish an international mission to ensure the safety of civilian shipping in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. French officials emphasize the importance of resolving the situation, as the stability of this sea lane has a critical impact on global economic processes.

This was stated by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, according to BFMTV.

The head of the French Foreign Ministry assured that the idea of deploying a security mission remains entirely relevant, and the development of its military-technical aspects is progressing successfully. To implement this initiative, France is maintaining constant diplomatic contacts with both Washington and Tehran. Jean-Noël Barrot emphasized that Iran and the U.S. must make every effort to reach a compromise, as all parties are currently suffering due to tensions in the region and the collateral effects of the confrontation.

The minister specifically noted that ordinary citizens feel the negative effects of a potential blockade or restriction of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz in their daily lives, particularly through price fluctuations at gas stations. Such destabilization causes significant harm not only to the global economic system but also directly to France’s own financial stability. This is precisely why the French leadership insists on the need to end the crisis in this shipping region as soon as possible.

Iran is threatening a spike in oil prices to $200 in the event of an escalation in the Middle East.

Iran attacked an airbase with American personnel in Kuwait, according to Bloomberg.
