MHP is acquiring a 70% stake in Greek poultry producer Nitsiakos
Myronivsky Hliboproduct has signed an agreement to acquire a 70% stake in the Greek company Th. Nitsiakos AVEE, one of Greece’s leading poultry producers with annual revenue of approximately €540 million. The deal marks the latest step in the company’s international expansion.
This was reported by MHP.
Th. Nitsiakos AVEE, headquartered in Ioannina in northwestern Greece, has been in operation since the 1970s. Over more than half a century, the company has grown into a powerful group with its own production of poultry and other types of meat, animal and pet feed, and an extensive distribution network. Nitsiakos is a leading poultry producer in Greece, and as of 2025, the group’s revenue amounted to approximately €540 million.
MHP will acquire 70% of the company in stages over several years, with the option to increase its stake to 100% in the future. The deal will take effect after receiving standard regulatory approvals.
For MHP, this is already the third major international acquisition since the start of the full-scale war. In 2025, the company acquired Spain’s Grupo UVESA—one of the leading producers of poultry and pork in Spain. Prior to that, it acquired “Ukrainian Meat Farm.” In early 2026, MHP became the first Ukrainian company since the start of the full-scale war to enter the Eurobond market, raising $450 million: demand exceeded supply by a factor of five.
MHP Founder and CEO Yuriy Kosyuk explains the logic behind this strategy simply: international expansion serves as a buffer that allows the company to maintain stability and continue investing in Ukraine even during the war. “Th. Nitsiakos AVEE is a company with over 50 years of experience in Greece’s food industry that has built a strong business. I am convinced that together we will build an effective partnership that will strengthen the international arm of the MHP Group and, as a result, allow our business in Ukraine to remain stable and grow,” Kosyuk noted.
During the years of full-scale war, MHP opened a new facility in Dnipro, began producing biomethane, and remains the largest taxpayer in the agricultural sector. From 2022 to 2025 alone, the company has invested approximately 30 billion UAH in the development of its Ukrainian business and supports a team of 32,000 employees.
MHP is the largest poultry producer in Europe. Products under the brands “Nasha Ryaba,” “Apetitna,” “Bashchynskyi,” and others are exported to 70 countries worldwide.
