The Kyiv Funicular will be closed for nearly a month and a half for repairs
From July 13 to August 21, the Kyiv funicular will temporarily suspend operations due to its annual scheduled maintenance. During this time, comprehensive maintenance will be performed on the facility, key systems will be inspected, and the vehicles will be prepared for continued safe operation.
As part of the maintenance work, specialists will perform maintenance on the machine room, compressor room, and thyristor room; inspect the traction cable and contact network; and check the condition of the funicular’s infrastructure.
In addition, as needed, some sleepers will be replaced, warning markings on the stairways will be updated, painting and metalwork on the car bodies will be performed, and the upholstery on some passenger seats will be partially replaced.
Once the repairs are complete, the funicular cars will undergo static and dynamic load tests to confirm the proper functioning of all systems and ensure the safety of passenger transport.
The Kyiv funicular is scheduled to resume operations on August 21, following the completion of all technical inspections.
