The Russian Ministry of Defense commented on the massive strike against Ukraine, calling it a response
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has officially commented on the massive combined attack on Ukrainian territory that took place on the night of June 2. The ministry stated that the strike was a “response” and reported that specific targets had been hit, including through the use of hypersonic missiles.
The Russian side claims that the shelling is a “response to the terrorist acts of the Kyiv regime.”
“High-precision long-range weapons were used, including hypersonic missiles, against enterprises of the defense-industrial complex in Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk, as well as in the Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, and Sumy regions, and against facilities of the fuel and energy complex and military airfields,” the Russian Ministry of Defense stated.
The Russian Ministry of Defense, as is customary, declared the operation a complete success, noting that “the strike objectives were achieved, and all designated targets were hit.”
At the same time, according to Ukrainian regional military administrations and rescue workers, the Russian attack resulted in significant damage to civilian infrastructure and casualties among the civilian population.
