Fighting has intensified in the Kharkiv region, and Russian casualties have risen
Russian troops have stepped up their offensive operations in the Kharkiv sector and adjacent sections of the front, accompanied by an increase in the intensity of combat engagements and casualties among their personnel. Ukrainian military officials report that over the past 24 hours, the occupying forces lost approximately 300 soldiers in the group’s area of responsibility.
This involves increased pressure on several fronts simultaneously, particularly in the Lyman sector, where the highest number of attacks has been recorded.
In recent days, Russian occupation forces have intensified their offensive operations in the Kharkiv region and along a number of other sections of the front, leading to a noticeable increase in combat activity. Viktor Tregubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Operation, reported this during a televised marathon, noting that the intensity of attacks is gradually increasing along nearly the entire line of contact.
According to him, the greatest pressure is currently being observed in the Lyman sector, where the number of assaults has increased significantly compared to previous periods. He emphasized that the overall dynamics of the fighting indicate a larger-scale offensive phase by the enemy, covering several sections of the front simultaneously. “For example, there could be as many as 37 combat engagements in total right now—that’s a lot. For instance, there are 20 clashes in the Lyman sector alone—that’s also a lot; it’s more than there used to be. Or, for example, the Russians suffered 300 casualties across all our sectors combined in a single day—that’s a lot,” said Tregubov.
He added that such enemy activity is part of a broader offensive campaign, which, according to Ukrainian military assessments, may be wave-like in nature and eventually subside. At the same time, the situation is generally becoming more complicated on certain sections of the front, where the number of combat engagements and the use of various types of weapons are increasing. The Ukrainian military emphasizes that despite the increased pressure, the situation remains under control, and the enemy is suffering significant casualties as it attempts to advance. Viktor Tregubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Operation, made these remarks during a televised briefing.
