In Transcarpathia, a train struck and killed an unidentified person

In the city of Chop in Zakarpattia, a train struck and killed a 49-year-old man who was on the railroad tracks. The victim died at the scene. Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the tragedy and trying to locate his place of residence and relatives.

Law enforcement received a report of the incident from medical personnel on July 14 at around 1:00 p.m. An investigative team was dispatched to the scene to determine why the man was on the railroad tracks.

“The identity of the deceased has already been established—he was a 49-year-old man. Police are taking steps to determine his place of residence and locate his relatives,” law enforcement officials stated.

A criminal case has been opened regarding this incident under Part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules or railway operation regulations resulting in the death of a person).
