Ukraine will be the first to receive the latest SAMP/T NG systems and Rafale fighter jets

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced new defense agreements with France following talks with President Emmanuel Macron. According to him, Ukraine will be the first country to receive the latest French-Italian SAMP/T NG anti-ballistic missile systems.

In addition, France will transfer two SAMP/T systems to Ukraine this year, and France and Italy will expedite the delivery of Aster 30 missiles by October.

Furthermore, according to the president, Ukraine will receive licenses to manufacture SCALP missiles and AASM air-to-ground bombs, as well as to co-produce Aster 30 missiles with Italy. France will also join the FREYJA anti-ballistic missile program.

Separately, Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine will purchase its first 16 Rafale fighter jets. Training for Ukrainian pilots and technical personnel in France will begin later this year, after which the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive the first four aircraft.

France will provide Ukraine with its most advanced Rafale fighter jets and will also grant licenses for the production of missiles and aerial bombs. The first French aircraft are expected to appear in Ukrainian skies in 2028–2029.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Paris, where he met with French President Emmanuel Macron. Following the talks, the leaders will participate in a summit of the Coalition of the Willing dedicated to continued support for Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that during his visit to France, Ukraine will present its Anti-Ballistic Missile Program to international partners, which is intended to serve as the foundation for creating a new system of defense against ballistic threats.
