Naouseda suggested that Russia is deliberately allowing drones to fly into the Baltic states
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda suggested that Russia might be deliberately allowing drones to veer off course and fly into the territory of the Baltic states or Poland in order to punish them for supporting Ukraine.
According to the Lithuanian leader, such incidents are an attempt by the Kremlin to destabilize the situation, keep society on edge, and “punish the countries” that are most actively supporting Ukraine. At the same time, he noted that drone incursions are not necessarily a direct attack on NATO, for which the Russians are not yet prepared.
Nausėda emphasized that Russia’s aggressive behavior indicates a clear trend toward using covert methods to create tension in the region.
He made these remarks in an interview with the program “Topic of the Day” on LRT Televizija.
