Navrotsky wants to strip Zelensky of his Polish order
Polish President Karol Nawrocki has announced his intention to seek the revocation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s highest Polish state award. He cited as the reason the decision to name an elite unit of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces “Heroes of the UPA.”
Navrotskyi made this statement on Friday, as quoted by Onet.
On April 5, 2023, then-Polish President Andrzej Duda awarded Zelenskyy the Order of the White Eagle—the country’s highest honor—during Zelenskyy’s visit to Warsaw. Now Karol Nawrocki wants to strip the Ukrainian president of this award.
“On June 8, a meeting of the Order of the White Eagle Chapter will take place. I have proposed adding the issue of stripping Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of the order to the agenda,” Navrotskyi stated.
He added that by naming a Ukrainian unit after the Heroes of the UPA, the Ukrainian president “provided Russian propaganda with excellent material and considerable fuel.”
"I view this decision very critically," said Karol Nawrocki.
Navrotsky thankedTrump for his intention to send troops to Poland.
