Poland has punished a Ukrainian man for illegally transporting migrants

Poland has deported a 27-year-old Ukrainian citizen who was involved in organizing the illegal crossing of the border for migrants from Belarus, and has banned him from entering all Schengen Area countries for six years.

Law enforcement officers detained the man during an investigation into an illegal migration scheme, establishing that he coordinated the crossing of foreigners across the Polish-Belarusian border and personally transported them by car deeper into the country.

The Polish Border Guard noted that the Ukrainian citizen was fully aware of his violation of the law and derived significant financial benefits from this activity, which is why his continued stay in the country was deemed a threat to public order and security. The official decision on deportation was issued by the commander of the Border Guard in Biała Podlaska. Officers from the Operational and Investigative Department of the Nadbużański Unit, under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin, have already transported the offender to the border crossing point and officially handed him over to Ukrainian authorities.

This was reported by Polsat News.

On May 21, a new 60-day extension of temporary restrictions on submitting applications for international protection at the border with Belarus came into effect in Poland. This refers to restrictions on migrants’ right to submit applications for international protection while crossing the Polish-Belarusian border. The country’s authorities have once again extended these measures.

In Poland, Ukrainians are increasingly being replaced by workers from Asia and Latin America.
