More than 70 diplomats visited the site where a Russian drone struck the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra
More than 70 members of the diplomatic corps on June 15 visited the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra following the Russian attack, where a drone strike was recorded. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna.
“Representatives of the diplomatic corps climbed onto the roof of the Assumption Cathedral—to the site where the Russian drone struck—and saw with their own eyes the extent of the damage inflicted on Ukrainian and global cultural heritage,” she said.
She emphasized that the strike on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra once again demonstrated that Russia is waging a war against Ukrainian culture and cultural heritage.

In this regard, Berezhna called on international partners to strengthen sanctions against Russia and support the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund, established to protect and restore cultural sites damaged as a result of Russian aggression.

She also thanked Ukraine’s partners for their assistance in preserving and restoring cultural heritage, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
