Lawyers for the family of 5-year-old Kyrylo, killed by a police officer, have stated that the killer was illegally mobilized
Former police officer Ivan Prykhodko, who is accused of the negligent homicide of 5-year-old Kirill Tlyavov in Pereyaslav, Kyiv Oblast, seven years ago, volunteered for military service.
This
information came to light in a response from the Kyiv City Military Registration and Enlistment Office to a request from representatives of the Tlyavov family.
The center stated that Prykhodko personally asked the Shevchenkivskyi District Military Registration and Enlistment Office in Kyiv to register him and provided a letter of recommendation from a military unit.
“On March 16, 2026, citizen Ivan Prykhodko submitted an application to the Shevchenkivskyi District Military Registration and Enlistment Office in Kyiv requesting to be registered for military service. Along with his application, I.O. Prykhodko submitted a letter from military unit A***6 stating that, upon registration, he would be mobilized directly by the military unit,” the response reads.
Lawyers for the family of the deceased boy emphasize the illegal mobilization of the killers of 5-year-old Kyrylo Tlyavov. Lawyer Oleksiy Shevchuk reported that the killers are dragging out the case.
The Kyiv Territorial Military Commissariat adds that the man accused of murdering a child stated that he had not been held criminally liable. At the same time, paragraph 14 of Article 1 of the Criminal Code states that criminal proceedings “begin from the moment a person is notified of the suspicion.”
“Prykhodko intentionally concealed this information from the Military Recruitment Center,” responded Elvira Lazarenko, a representative of the Tlyavov family.
On March 26, the commander of the military unit sent a letter to the Shevchenkivskyi District Military Registration and Enlistment Office in Kyiv regarding Prykhodko’s enlistment with the rank of senior sergeant, as detailed in the letter.
As a reminder, Yaroslav Popenko, the son of the mayor of Pryluky—who had previously been detained on suspicion of drug trafficking—has become a servicemember of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Tetyana Chornovol, a combat officer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that her public appeal to Andriy Yermak, proposing that he enlist in her platoon as a “Mavic” UAV pilot, went unanswered.
