Ukraine's air defense forces shot down 20 missiles and 349 drones during a massive attack
Between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., Russian forces launched 21 missiles and 361 attack drones at Ukraine. As of 10:00 p.m., air defense forces had destroyed or intercepted 20 missiles and 349 drones.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.
On April 15 (from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.), the enemy launched a combined strike against Ukraine using ground-based and air-launched missiles, as well as attack drones.
In total, during this period, the Air Force’s electronic warfare units detected and tracked 382 aerial targets:
- 20 Kh-101 cruise missiles (from the Caspian Sea);
- 1 Iskander-K cruise missile (from the Rostov region, Russian Federation);
- 361 UAVs of the Shahed, Gerber, Italmas types, and other types of UAVs from the following directions: Shatalovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russian Federation; Gvardeyskoye – temporarily occupied territory of Crimea; approximately 200 of them were "Shaheds."
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 22:00, air defense forces shot down or neutralized 369 enemy targets:
- 19 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 1 Iskander-K cruise missile;
- 349 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of UAVs.
One missile and 12 strike UAVs were recorded hitting 6 locations, and debris from downed targets was found at 12 locations.
A new Ukrainian Coral air defense missile was spotted online.
Ukrainian forces also carried out precision strikes on Russian targets, including warehouses storing attack drones. The attacks took place in the Donetsk region. SCALP missiles and aerial bombs were used for this purpose.
Ukrainian defense forces struck a number of Russian air defense systems, including radar stations and an anti-aircraft missile system.
