President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in Saudi Arabia on a visit
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Saudi Arabia on March 26 for a series of important meetings.
The head of state announced his visit on Telegram, emphasizing the value of support from partners and the readiness to work together for the sake of security. The trip comes amid Ukraine’s active international engagement aimed at strengthening defense cooperation and involving countries of the Global South in the implementation of the Peace Formula.
Saudi Arabia has previously served as a mediator in negotiation processes on multiple occasions, particularly regarding prisoner exchanges with Russia and discussions on ways to resolve the military conflict. Zelenskyy’s visit aims to further deepen bilateral relations and coordinate efforts in the areas of energy and regional stability. The visit’s agenda includes talks with the kingdom’s top leadership on current security challenges.
Earlier, Zelenskyy stated in an interview with Le Monde that the country is working on exchanging modern interceptor drones for air defense systems from partners in the Middle East.
Zelenskyy also called for the confiscation of oil from tankers subject to sanctions.
