Russia is preparing attacks on Ukraine's water supply systems — Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia is preparing an operation against Ukrainian water supply systems in the coming months. 

Zelenskyy made this statement during an evening address on March 25.

The head of state emphasized the need for every community to take a responsible approach to protecting relevant facilities and set a clear task to establish new lines of defense. According to the president, the issue of air defense, particularly against drones in western regions, is already being addressed by government officials and the Presidential Office team in collaboration with the military.

During the daily conference call, special attention was paid to the situation in regions affected by Russian strikes, particularly in the Chernihiv region, where work to restore power supply is ongoing. Zelenskyy discussed key defense and energy tasks with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, Naftogaz CEO Serhiy Koretskyi, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, and other officials. The President emphasized that the Ukrainian Air Force must also carry out a specific scope of work to strengthen the security of critical infrastructure.

On March 24, Russian occupiers launched a massive attack on western regions of Ukraine using kamikaze drones. In Lviv, one of the drones struck a building in the city center, causing a fire.

This attack was part of a large-scale air offensive by the Russian Federation that on March 24 swept across several regions of Ukraine, including critical infrastructure facilities in the rear regions.
