Russia May Expand Strikes Deep Into Ukraine: Expert Names Possible Targets
Russia may intensify attacks on civilian and critical infrastructure targets located up to 100 kilometers from the front line. According to radio technology expert Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov, potential targets may include gas stations, post offices, and other important facilities.
“Flash” believes that Russia’s war against Ukraine is gradually shifting from combat operations on the front lines to a phase of massive strikes deep and medium-range behind enemy lines, as both sides are positioning themselves ahead of possible peace talks.
The minister’s advisor added that Ukraine currently has the upper hand, as Russia has more critical infrastructure that affects the course of the war. At the same time, Ukraine remains vulnerable, as the enemy does not limit its choice of targets for attacks.
“We must prepare for the fact that they will attack everything within a 100-kilometer depth: gas stations, post offices, any warehouses, enterprises, bases for construction and agricultural equipment, railway facilities, highways, and power substations—not just high-capacity ones,” he told “Flash.”
He emphasized that both sides are systematically striking each other’s infrastructure, resulting in civilian casualties.
“We want to put a stop to all this, but our enemy does not. He is perfectly content with the situation. It’s important to understand that we have more than enough resources and capabilities to destroy targets on our enemy’s territory,” the minister’s adviser added.
