Russia has lost 89,000 troops since the start of the year — Zelenskyy
From January 1 to March 26, 2026, Russian forces lost 89,000 personnel on the front lines, including those killed and seriously wounded.
According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, these are irreplaceable personnel losses.
He also noted that in 2026, Russia plans to mobilize 409,000 people, of whom approximately 20–22% had been mobilized as of the end of March.
The president pointed out that losses are already outpacing the rate of mobilization, calling this an “important signal.”
Additionally, according to a report by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, an increase in Russian forces has been observed in the Pokrovsk direction, though there have been no significant advances, and the situation remains under control.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated 9 settlements.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defenders have repelled a large-scale offensive by Russian occupiers, recording a total of 158 combat engagements across the entire front line.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian Air Force has warned of high activity by Russian drones.
