Trump stated that the U.S. is focused on resolving the war between Ukraine and Russia
U.S. President Donald Trump on June 15 stated that following the conclusion of what he called the conflict with Iran, the United States has focused its efforts on achieving peace between Ukraine and Russia. According to him, Washington is now paying special attention to diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump made this statement during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
According to Trump, yesterday, June 14, he held very productive phone conversations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
“It seems to me that we may be able to do something about this issue. We really can. I think they’re both open to it. Now that this is done, we’ll focus on it and see if we can see it through,” the president emphasized.
According to him, “25,000 people are dying” every month in Russia’s war against Ukraine, mostly soldiers, and this “should not be happening.”
Earlier, Zelenskyy proposed to Putin that they meet during the G7 summit.
