Cherkasy has declared a day of mourning for a boy killed by Russians
April 15 was declared a day of mourning in Cherkasy for eight-year-old Bohdanchik, whose life was cut short the day before by a Russian drone strike at a playground.
This was reported in a Telegram post by Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration.
As a result of the enemy attack, nine high-rise buildings, 28 private homes, and three educational institutions were damaged in the city, and several vehicles were destroyed. Currently, four victims are in the hospital, while the others received outpatient care.
The emergency response headquarters continues to assess the damage and assist residents of destroyed homes. The city community honors the memory of the child who became yet another victim of Russian aggression. Utility services are working to restore the damaged infrastructure in residential neighborhoods. Assistance to affected families is being provided in coordination with local authorities and volunteers. Investigations into the war crime are ongoing to further document evidence of the aggression.
As a reminder, an eight-year-old boy was killed and twelve others were injured in the Russian strike on Cherkasy on the evening of April 14.
On the afternoon of April 14, 2026, Russian troops attacked Dnipro. The strike injured civilians and caused a fire at the site.
