Kyiv bids farewell to 12-year-old Hryhorii Hlushych, who died in a car accident
Today, June 10, a funeral service is being held in Kyiv for 12-year-old Hryhorii Hlushych, whose life was tragically cut short on June 5.
In her address, the mother of the deceased child shared the pain of her loss.
“Life has been split into ‘before’ and ‘after’ Grishenka. It is painful, sad, and empty for us without you, my dear… Your dreams, unfinished books, and your love are now with us forever, and you will forever be 12 years old,” the statement reads.
The family and loved ones are calling on all those who care to join the ceremony, share in their grief, and see the boy off on his final journey.
The farewell to the child will take place on Wednesday, June 10, according to the following schedule:
- 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. — farewell in the courtyard of the “Sofia” School (Voskresensky Avenue, 3)
- 1:00–3:00 PM — funeral service at St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral
The family asks everyone planning to attend the ceremony to bring only fresh flowers, preferably white ones.

On June 5, a major traffic accident occurred in Kyiv, resulting in the deaths of four people and injuries to three others. The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Vadym Hetman and Ushynsky Streets near Karavaevy Dachi. Two young police officers were killed in this accident.
The day before, a farewell ceremony for two beat officers from the Solomyanskyi— Lieutenant Denys Budchenko and Senior Lieutenant Dmytro Bondarchuk.
