The Kremlin has decided to exclude Yabloko from the election due to the party's low approval rating

The Kremlin has decided to exclude Yabloko from the election due to the party's low approval rating

The reason for the cancellation of the registration of the united anti-war party “Yabloko” in the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation was the sharp rise in its popularity.

According to sources at the publication “Versтка” close to the Russian Presidential Administration (PA), after the Central Election Commission registered the party’s federal list, its rating in closed polls rose from within the margin of error to 9.3%. This would have allowed it to clear the 5 percent threshold. As a result, it was decided to urgently halt the experiment of allowing the party to participate.

The decision to remove the party was made on August 10 by Russian Supreme Court Justice Vyacheslav Kirilov in response to a lawsuit filed by the pro-Kremlin party “Rodina.” The grounds for the decision were allegations of copyright infringement in campaign materials, as well as data from Rosfinmonitoring regarding alleged “foreign funding.” Yabloko rejected all of the accusations. Following this decision, there is no longer a single party with an anti-war stance remaining in the Russian election race.

This was reported by “Verstka.”

The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation has removed the Yabloko party from the State Duma elections.

We previously reported that the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office had called for the Yabloko party to be removed from the election.
