In Sumy, the SBU detained two local residents who called for the region to be seized by Russia
Cybersecurity experts from the Security Service of Ukraine have exposed two local residents in Sumy who were spreading hostile propaganda and justifying the Russian Federation’s armed aggression. The perpetrators face up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property for their actions.
According to the investigation, one of the detainees—a local doctor—called on Telegram channels for the seizure of the Sumy region and its subsequent annexation by Russia, and also denied that civilian infrastructure had been shelled. Another suspect denied the occupiers’ war crimes in Bucha, supported the seizure of Ukraine’s southern and eastern regions, and called for intensified missile and drone strikes.
Law enforcement officers seized the suspects’ cell phones containing evidence of illegal activities, which was also confirmed by linguistic analyses. Investigators have now notified both men that they are suspected of violating Ukraine’s territorial integrity and justifying Russia’s armed aggression.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General announced that they had notified Fedir Khrystenko, a sitting member of parliament from the banned Opposition Platform—For Life party, that he was a suspect. He is accused of high treason and abuse of influence.

In the Kharkiv region, a traitor was sentenced to 15 years for arson and coordinating Russian strikes.
