Another suspect has been charged in the case of Matthew Perry's death

In the case surrounding the death of actor Matthew Perry, a Los Angeles court has handed down a verdict against one of the key figures involved—consultant Eric Fleming, who supplied ketamine prior to the tragedy. The investigation is gradually nearing its conclusion, and the main links in the illegal supply chain for the drug have already been identified, CNN reports.

A federal court in Los Angeles has handed down a verdict in the case that has been ongoing since the death of “Friends” star Matthew Perry, and this development marks another milestone in the investigation, which is gradually piecing together a complete picture of the illegal ketamine trade surrounding the actor. One of the key figures in the case received a prison sentence, and investigators are already speaking of a systematic drug distribution scheme that went far beyond medical supervision.

A federal court in Los Angeles sentenced Eric Fleming—an addiction treatment consultant who admitted to supplying ketamine to Matthew Perry prior to his death in October 2023—to two years in prison. According to the investigation, Fleming did not merely pass on the drug but also obtained it through other channels, including from drug dealer Jasvin Sangi, whom the prosecution called the “ketamine queen,” and resold it at a markup, turning the tragedy into a chain of illegal business centered on the actor’s addiction.

As investigators established, it was Fleming who introduced Perry to the people through whom he obtained illegal ketamine, and shortly before the actor’s death, he handed over a batch of 25 vials worth several thousand dollars, which ultimately ended up with his personal assistant. A few days later, Matthew Perry was found dead in the hot tub at his home in Los Angeles, and experts confirmed acute ketamine exposure as the primary cause of death.

In court, Fleming’s lawyers sought to mitigate the sentence, emphasizing that he had pleaded guilty and cooperated with the investigation, and had no prior convictions; however, the prosecution insisted that his role was critical, as he acted as an intermediary who was aware of Perry’s addiction yet continued to supply the drug. The defendant himself admitted that it was a “desperate act during the worst period of his life.”

The investigation also established that Matthew Perry had been undergoing ketamine treatment for depression in recent years, but began seeking higher doses than permitted by his official therapy, which led him to the illegal market. The investigation into the case has been ongoing for over two years and, according to investigators, is nearing completion following the sentencing of another suspect who had direct contact with the actor on the day of his death.

Matthew Perry died at the age of 54, and for millions of viewers, he will forever remain Chandler Bing from the cult series “Friends,” which aired on NBC from 1994 to 2004, and now his story is coming to a close in court documents that are gradually piecing together the tragic sequence of events from the final days of his life.

A U.S. court has sentenced Jasvin Sangsi, known in criminal circles as the “ketamine queen,” for her role in the death of “Friends” star Matthew Perry.

As a reminder, the court sentenced the doctor who supplied ketamine to Matthew Perry.

A Los Angeles court sentenced Dr. Salvador Plascencia, who was accused of selling ketamine to actor Matthew Perry shortly before his death. He was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison.

The doctor pleaded guilty in the case involving the death of actor Matthew Perry.

Experts have released the results of the toxicology report on the death of actor Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing in the series “Friends.” He died on October 28 in a hot tub at his home in Los Angeles.
