An official of the Lutsk City Council has been charged with embezzling more than ₴2.3 million
The head of one of the departments of the Lutsk City Council has been notified that he is suspected of embezzling budget funds on an exceptionally large scale.
According to the investigation, the official, acting in collusion with a representative of a contracting company, may have inflated the cost of construction materials and equipment during the restoration of a movie theater in Lutsk, which was to be converted into a multifunctional business space.
As a result of these actions, according to investigators, the municipal budget suffered losses of over 2.3 million hryvnias.
The suspect has been charged under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—misappropriation of property through abuse of official position, committed by a group of individuals acting in prior conspiracy under martial law on an especially large scale.
The court placed the suspect under house arrest.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Volyn Regional Police with operational support from National Police units.

The former head of the Rivne Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support will stand trial for negligence that caused the state losses totaling more than 830 thousand hryvnias during the procurement of vehicles for the army.
