Unknown drones attack Novorossiysk port in Russia, fire breaks out
On the night of 1–2 March, the city of Novorossiysk came under attack by unknown drones. Following a series of explosions in the port area, a fire broke out.
This was reported by Russian media outlets.
The first reports of explosions were received at 22:50 Kyiv time. Local residents described the sounds as “pops”, while the city’s mayor, Andrei Kravchenko, announced traffic restrictions in the embankment area.

According to eyewitnesses, the attack involved not only standard unmanned aerial vehicles but also sea drones. Almost immediately after the first explosions, footage of the fire appeared on social media. It later emerged that an oil terminal at the port had caught fire as a result of the strike. Local authorities have not yet provided official comment.
It is recalled that on the night of 25 February, unknown drones attacked a chemical plant in the city of Dorogobuzh, Smolensk region.
It was also previously reported that Transneft reduced oil intake by 250,000 barrels per day following a drone attack on a key oil pumping station in Tatarstan. A fire caused by the overnight strike affected two large storage tanks at the Kaleykino oil pumping station and disrupted crude supplies from Tatneft, according to Russian media reports.
Ukrainian drones reportedly disabled half of the storage tanks at an oil depot in Velikiye Luki, Pskov region. Russian forces had attempted to protect the facility with anti-drone structures, but these measures proved ineffective.
