Carrot prices have risen sharply in Ukraine over the past week

Ukrainian farmers have begun selling last year’s carrot harvest at prices ranging from 13 to 20 hryvnias per kilogram, which is on average 34 percent higher than at the end of the previous workweek. Market participants attribute the latest increase in vegetable prices to a noticeable surge in demand from retail chains and wholesale companies as stocks run low.

This is reported in an article on the EastFruit analytical platform. According to experts, stocks of high-quality produce at local farms have practically run out, which significantly supports further growth in selling prices.

Despite the current price increase, carrots in Ukraine are currently, on average, 56 percent cheaper than during the same period last year. Most key market players agree that the positive price trend in this segment will continue. At the same time, analysts predict that the pace of price increases for this vegetable may not be as rapid going forward.
