Video: Drones Attacked Russia's Largest Oil Refinery in Omsk for the First Time

In Omsk, Russia, drones attacked Russia’s largest oil refinery. The facility is located approximately 2,500 km from the border with Ukraine.

According to the OSINT community Dnipro Osint (Garbuz), the drones struck the ELOU-AVT-11 primary oil refining unit, which has a capacity of 8.4 million metric tons per year. A fire broke out on the plant’s grounds following the attack. Analysts also published the facility’s coordinates and reported that the drones had struck the plant’s process columns.

Meanwhile, Omsk Region Governor Vitaliy Khotsenko confirmed the drone attack, stating that air defense forces had allegedly shot down a UAV over the region. According to him, the consequences of the attack are still being assessed.

On the day of the attack in the Omsk region, a drone threat was declared for the second time since the start of the full-scale war. Later, Rosaviatsiya imposed temporary restrictions on operations at Omsk Airport. Local residents are sharing footage on social media that appears to show the attack on the facility.

It should be noted that the Omsk Oil Refinery is owned by Gazprom Neft and is one of the key enterprises in Russia’s fuel industry. The plant produces gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, as well as other petroleum products used both in the civilian sector and to supply the Russian military.

At this time, there is no official information regarding the extent of the damage to the facility.

This has been reported by the Telegram channels Exilenova+ and by analysts from the Dnipro OSINT monitoring community, using the call sign “Garbuz.”

As a reminder, OSINT analysts are documenting an expansion of Ukrainian strikes deep into Russian territory.

The SBU has carried out strikes on oil refineries and military facilities in Russia and Crimea.
