Video: Second strike on the Temp oil depot in Rybinsk, Russia
Fighters from the "Alpha" Special Operations Center of the Security Service of Ukraine carried out a successful attack on the "Temp" oil depot, part of the Russian Federation's state material reserve, in the city of Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Oblast.
Long-range strike drones struck a key fuel and lubricants facility more than 700 kilometers from Ukraine’s state border.
As a result of precision strikes on the facility’s tank farm, a massive fire broke out, and the sky over the Russian region was filled with thick black smoke.
The special operation was carried out as part of efforts aimed at systematically destroying the aggressor country’s logistical capabilities and disrupting the supply of occupation forces.
Following the strikes by Ukrainian drones, at least three major fire outbreaks were recorded on the oil depot’s territory. The fire engulfed part of the tank farm, which comprises over 60 fuel storage tanks in total.
Local residents reported on social media a series of powerful explosions, the ineffective operation of air defense systems, and unusual precipitation—the so-called black oil rain that fell in the suburbs after the fire began.
The Temp oil depot is a critical strategic facility classified as a second-class hazard, directly subordinate to Russia’s Federal Agency for State Reserves.
Thanks to its convenient logistical location near the railway and access to the Volga River, this complex functions as a key transit hub.
From here, the Kremlin supplies petroleum products to the northeastern regions of the Russian Federation and builds up strategic reserves of gasoline and diesel fuel to meet the needs of the Russian army in the war against Ukraine.
This is the second successful strike against this refinery—the first attack by SBU long-range drones on the facility in Rybinsk took place late last year.
