Cadillac is considering producing the V-One Concept track car, based on the V-Series.R race car. The model may be offered to private customers if the company sees sufficient interest in it, according to Motor1.

Sean O’Shea, head of powertrain development for Cadillac’s LMDh program, told Road & Track that the V-One is “a concept in name only” and is as close to a race car as possible. According to him, Cadillac is assessing interest in the model and possible directions for its future development.

Externally, the V-One closely resembles the V-Series.R, but it has been adapted for private owners. During the concept’s presentation, Cadillac noted that the car should be easier to operate while maintaining a similar level of performance. The model features the FIA-approved safety cell from the V-Series.R, a Dallara chassis, and a hybrid 5.5-liter V8 powertrain—all shared with the race car. The system’s total power output is approximately 830 horsepower.

Cadillac does not want production of the customer version to impact the brand’s racing program. According to O’Shea, Dallara has informed General Motors that it is capable of supporting the production of both versions. If the V-One goes into production, the car will likely be produced in a limited series and sold at a high price. Cadillac designers also considered 36 steering wheel options before selecting the final version, which features a display and controls similar to those found in race cars.
