The Czinger 21C could challenge the Mercedes-AMG One for the Nürburgring record
American hypercar manufacturer Czinger is considering a record-breaking run on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife, where the 21C could challenge the Mercedes-AMG One’s record among production cars. The company has not yet scheduled a formal attempt, but its co-founder and CEO, Lucas Czinger, said the team has already been collecting data on the German track.
According to Motor1, Czinger believes the 21C has a chance to compete for both open-top car records with the new 21C Spyder and overall lap records without that distinction. At the same time, full-scale preparation for the Nürburgring run could take up to a year. Prior to that, the manufacturer is also considering record attempts at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway or Silverstone.

The Czinger 21C coupe is equipped with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors. The hypercar’s claimed power output is 1,250 horsepower. According to Motor1, the 21C has already set records among production cars at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and the Circuit of the Americas. The model has also posted impressive results at other California tracks and on the hill climb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The 21C Spyder was unveiled during Monterey Car Week. It features an open carbon-fiber monocoque and aerodynamics that, according to Czinger, generate 3,267 pounds of downforce at 150 miles per hour. The company positions the 21C as a road-going hypercar designed to set track records.
