EVgo plans to add more than 400 fast-charging stations for electric vehicles at Regency shopping centers in the United States. The new charging sites will be concentrated primarily near shopping centers with grocery stores, allowing drivers to charge their vehicles while shopping.

Partnership expansion

EVgo's cooperation with shopping center owner Regency began in 2020. Since then, the operator has installed and maintained more than 150 charging stations at Regency properties. The current plan provides for a significant expansion of the network, InsideEVs reports.

Each new site is planned to have up to 24 high-power chargers. Deployment is planned, in particular, in Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. Other states not named by the companies are also included in the plans.

Other EVgo projects

EVgo and Regency have not disclosed completion timelines, a full list of locations, or charger power specifications for Regency properties. Earlier, EVgo announced plans to add at least 500 charging stations as part of a partnership with Brixmor Property Group. This project is expected to cover at least 90 Brixmor shopping centers.

EVgo and the Kroger supermarket chain also announced plans to install at least 150 fast-charging stations annually through 2035. The initiative applies, in particular, to stores operating under the Fred Meyer, Harris Teeter, and Smith's brands.
