Kia unveils electric PV7 van in Germany
Kia unveiled the PV7 electric van in Germany at the IAA Transportation exhibition — the second model in the Platform Beyond Vehicle lineup after the PV5. The new vehicle will have passenger and cargo versions, and its length is approximately 60 cm greater than that of the PV5, The Verge reports.
Batteries and charging
The PV7 is built on Kia's dedicated E-GMP.S architecture for the PBV lineup. Its design has a flat floor, which should simplify loading and unloading. The model will be offered with nickel-manganese-cobalt batteries with capacities of 71.5 or 96.2 kWh.
According to Kia, the Cargo Long-Range version will have a range of up to 460 km under the WLTP cycle. The van uses an 800-volt electrical architecture: charging from 10% to 80% at a 350 kW high-speed DC station will take less than 25 minutes, according to the company.

The vehicle will also support a vehicle-to-load function to power external tools and equipment. The multimedia system will run on Android Automotive-based Pleos Connect OS and feature Gleo AI natural-language voice control.
Model launch
Kia plans to launch the PV7 in Europe and South Korea in the second half of 2027. The company also said it intends to bring the model to additional markets in the future and offer derivative and converted versions.
The Platform Beyond Vehicle lineup was introduced at CES 2024 as a family of electric vehicles with flexible architecture and different body types. Kia did not say whether the PV7 will appear on the US market, although, according to Electrek, one version of the model has already been spotted during testing in the country.
