China Unveils a Pickup Truck Similar to the Land Cruiser: Charges to 80% in 10 Minutes
Chery is preparing to unveil its new Jetour Zongheng F700 hybrid pickup truck, which resembles the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and is set to compete with the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, and BYD Shark 6.
The new model is built on a ladder-frame platform and is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 208 k.s. When paired with the hybrid powertrain, the total power output can reach nearly 900 k.s., just like in the related G700 model.
One of its key features is the CATL Shenxing battery, which supports ultra-fast charging—from 20% to 80% in just 10 minutes. The range on a full tank of fuel and a fully charged battery is claimed to be up to 1,300 km.
The official premiere of the Jetour Zongheng F700 will take place in November at the Guangzhou Auto Show, after which the model will be launched on the Chinese market and exported.
