Renault to unveil electric E-Space concept in Paris — InsideEVs

French automaker Renault will unveil the electric E-Space concept in Paris, France, on October 12 — a modern reinterpretation of the first 1984 Renault Espace minivan. This was reported by InsideEVs.

Design referencing the first Espace

The concept has a digital front end and a wide U-shaped light element that references the angular front of the original Espace. The E-Space is 4,700 mm long. The model features almost 360-degree body glazing, including a slanted additional window near the A-pillar, similar to the solution used in the first Espace.

The rear pillar wraps around the roof and is visually separated from the main body. Digital cameras are installed instead of traditional exterior mirrors, the door handles are not visible, and large wheels are paired with narrow tires.

Production version not confirmed

Renault describes the E-Space as a future-oriented vision of the original model and its relaunch. The company said the concept explores possible directions for development, while a production version of the electric minivan could align with its Futuready strategy. At the same time, Renault stressed that the E-Space is currently only a concept.

The first Renault Espace was developed in cooperation with Matra. It could accommodate up to seven passengers, had removable rear seats and rotating front seats. Renault has not yet released images of the E-Space interior or technical specifications; the company promises to disclose additional details during the presentation at the Paris Motor Show.
