Tesla will unveil its Semi electric truck for Europe in September
Tesla will unveil a version of its Semi electric truck for the European market in Germany this September. The unveiling will take place at the IAA Transportation trade show in Hanover, which begins on September 14, according to InsideEVs.
The company announced on social media platform X that it will reveal the technical specifications and details regarding the model’s European launch during the event. The full specifications of the European Tesla Semi have not yet been released. InsideEVs speculates that one of the two versions available in the U.S.—Standard Range or Long Range—may be showcased at the event.
According to Tesla, the U.S. Standard Range version has a power output of up to 1,072 horsepower and a range of up to 325 miles, or about 523 kilometers. The Long Range version, according to the manufacturer, has the same power but a range of up to 500 miles, or approximately 805 kilometers.

Tesla states that when using a 120 kW charger, the Semi can restore 60% of its battery capacity in four hours. The Megacharger system, with a power rating of up to 1.2 MW, according to the company, allows the vehicle to restore 60% of its range in about 30 minutes.
The Tesla Semi uses a seven-pin MCS charging port. In Europe, networks of megawatt charging stations for electric trucks are being expanded by companies such as Milence and Iberdrola. The Swedish transportation company Einride has ordered 500 Tesla Semi trucks—InsideEVs calls this the largest order for this model to date.
If Tesla does not offer a Long Range version for Europe, the Semi will not have the longest range among electric trucks on the market, InsideEVs notes. The publication notes that the MAN eTGX has a claimed standard range of 354 miles, or about 570 kilometers.
