Ukrainians are importing used SUVs in large numbers: the year’s most popular models revealed
In the first two months of 2026, the Ukrainian vehicle fleet saw a significant influx of used passenger cars, with SUVs emerging as the clear leader.
According to data from the Ukravtoprom association, out of 31,800 imported cars, more than half were crossovers, confirming the steady demand for this class of vehicles.
The share of used crossovers in the overall import structure reached “53%.” This indicates that Ukrainian drivers prioritize versatility and off-road capability even when choosing used vehicles.
Analysts note that “the average age of used SUVs that were registered in Ukraine this year is 8 years.” This age allows buyers to obtain modern technology and comfort at an affordable price compared to new cars from dealerships.
The top spot in the popularity ranking was taken by the “AUDI Q5 — 1,259 units,” ahead of its closest competitor, the “VW Tiguan — 1,223 units.”
Both models traditionally enjoy high trust among Ukrainians thanks to their reliability and build quality.
The "NISSAN Rogue — 1,092 units" confidently holds third place, often entering the Ukrainian market through U.S. auctions. Its popularity is due to a successful combination of size and maintenance costs.
The top five also includes the “FORD Escape — 675 units” and the “NISSAN Qashqai — 675 units,” which posted identical results. These models are valued for their fuel efficiency in urban driving and the availability of replacement parts.
The second half of the top ten was dominated by premium and Japanese brands.
Among them: "MAZDA CX5 — 588 units," "AUDI Q7 — 525 units," as well as representatives of the Bavarian automotive industry — "BMW X3 — 505 units" and "BMW X5 — 454 units."
Rounding out the top 10 most popular used crossovers at the start of the year is the “HYUNDAI Tucson — 407 units.” This model remains a reliable choice for those seeking a balance between comfort and durability on Ukrainian roads.
