The lawyer representing the family of 12-year-old Hryhorii Hlushych, who died in a fatal car accident on Chokolivsky Boulevard in Kyiv, stated that the accident may not have been caused by the driver losing control of the vehicle, but rather by the driver’s deliberate actions.
According to her, the testimony of a female passenger who was in the Mercedes during the trip is crucial to the investigation. The woman was riding with the driver as a taxi service customer and is listed as a witness for the prosecution in the case.
The lawyer noted that she cannot disclose the content of the testimony due to the confidentiality of the pre-trial investigation, but emphasized that the suspect’s defense version, presented in court, does not, in her opinion, correspond to the actual circumstances of the case.
“I am forming the impression that the rhetoric and position taken by the suspect’s attorney during the court hearing are untrue,” she stated.
As a reminder, on June 5, a Mercedes driver crashed into an underground pedestrian crossing at high speed in the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv. Four people were killed in the accident, including a 12-year-old boy and two police officers. Three more people were injured. The driver was arrested without the right to bail.
