A ballistic projectile landing in Kyiv was captured on police body cameras
On the night of August 1, Russia launched a massive ballistic missile attack on Kyiv. Several of the strikes were captured on the body cameras of patrol officers who were assisting people at the impact sites at the time.
The Kyiv Patrol Police released footage taken during the nighttime attack. The video shows police officers working to address the aftermath of the Russian strike on the capital. The Russians launched another massive attack on Kyiv that night, specifically firing ballistic missiles at the city.
Footage from body cameras shows patrol officers helping to rescue people after the strikes. The officers worked near damaged buildings and assisted the victims. At one point, at least two ballistic missiles struck near residential buildings. The moments of the strikes were captured directly on the law enforcement officers’ body cameras.
The patrol police noted that Russian forces once again struck the capital, where civilians live. “Once again, the treacherous enemy mercilessly shelled the capital. Enemy missiles were aimed at civilians,” law enforcement officials stated.
This attack was tragic for Kyiv. Civilians were killed as a result of the Russian strike. A police officer also died that night. The patrol police expressed their condolences to his family and loved ones. “Unfortunately, today the people of Kyiv lost loved ones. Last night, we lost a colleague. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and loved ones,” the statement reads.
