Former Head of a Municipal Enterprise in Kyiv and a Developer Are Suspected of Causing 13.8 Million Hryvnia in Losses
In Kyiv, charges were filed against the former head of the municipal enterprise “Spetszhytlofond” and the head of a construction company for causing nearly 13.8 million hryvnias in losses to the municipal enterprise.
In 2019, the contractor received a 35 million hryvnia advance payment to construct a residential building in the Desnianskyi district to relocate residents from a dilapidated building; however, construction never began, and only a foundation pit remains on the site.
The former head of the municipal enterprise failed to take measures to ensure the timely return of the unused advance payment, for which he is charged with official negligence, while the developer is charged with embezzlement of funds on an especially large scale.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
In addition, an official from the Shevchenkivskyi District State Administration in Kyiv has been charged with official negligence. He inflated the prices for repairing a shelter at one of the capital’s schools by 1.8 million hryvnias.
Earlier, prosecutors notified the director of “Pleso,” a municipal enterprise under the Kyiv City State Administration responsible for the protection, maintenance, and operation of Kyiv’s water fund lands, that he was suspected of embezzlement of budget funds on an exceptionally large scale.
Previously in Kyiv, five officials from municipal road maintenance departments were notified of suspicion of embezzling nearly 1.6 million hryvnias. The officials are from the Darnytskyi, Solomianskyi, Holosiivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Desnianskyi districts.
In Kyiv, a female official at “Kyivavtodor” is suspected of embezzlement.
