Kyiv experienced one of the warmest summers on record
The average air temperature in the capital during the summer of 2026 was 21.2 °C—0.8 °C above the climate norm.
In the entire history of weather observations, which dates back to 1881, this summer was the 13th warmest on record in Kyiv.
The hottest day was August 6, when the temperature rose to 39 °C. In contrast, the coldest day was June 1, when the temperature dropped to 7.7 °C.
Four temperature records for the summer were set in August. This month had the greatest deviation from the norm—a positive 2.2 °C. June and August were warmer than the climate norm, while July was the exception.
Over the three summer months, Kyiv received 163 mm of precipitation—only 82% of the climatological norm.
