Kyiv to reorganize bollards: a unified management system will be created
Kyiv will standardize the use and maintenance of automatic road bollards in restricted-access areas.
The Kyiv City Council adopted the relevant decision on March 26.
As Kyiv City Council member Yulia Banyas noted, the capital has long needed a systematic approach to the installation and operation of such traffic control elements, as this directly affects safety and the organization of urban space.
The decision provides for the inventory of all bollards in the city, the identification of responsible asset managers, and their integration into a unified automated management system.
It is expected that this will ensure the proper functioning of traffic restrictions, timely software updates, and eliminate the haphazard installation of such devices.
Special attention is being paid to emergency service access—the Kyiv City State Administration emphasizes that bollards must not hinder the rapid response of rescue workers and medical personnel, especially during wartime.
The Kyiv City Council has renamed Volgo-Donska Street in honor of the fallen soldier and Hero of Ukraine Pavlo Petrychenko. This decision was adopted at today’s meeting, during which council members renamed 10 locations in the capital whose names were associated with the aggressor country.
The Lviv City Council adopted a decision to rename Gipsova Street to Igor Yukhnovsky Street.
