An official from the Kyiv City State Administration has been charged with the illegal privatization of property worth 7.4 million hryvnias

The director of the Department of Municipal Property at the Kyiv City State Administration has been notified of his status as a suspect in a case involving the illegal privatization of municipal real estate.

This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.

According to law enforcement officials, the case involves premises in the Solomyanskyi district of the capital, valued at approximately 7.4 million hryvnias.

The investigation established that the property was on the balance sheet of a municipal enterprise and had been leased for a long time.

Subsequently, the tenant, using forged documents, privatized the premises without legal grounds.

The prosecutor’s office notes that the official failed to ensure proper oversight of the property’s use and did not verify the scope and cost of the repairs carried out.

As a result, the city lost approximately 1.4 million hryvnias in rent payments.

The official’s actions are classified as official negligence.

Charges have been filed against top SBU officials who “covered up” amber mining.

The deputy head of the SBU in Rivne Oblast received over $22,000 from a businessman through the same intermediary for ensuring unimpeded amber mining.
