The published footage shows four law enforcement officers forcibly carrying a shirtless man down the stairs, which sparked a strong reaction from people at the station.
During the incident, witnesses tried to find out the reasons for these actions and demanded explanations from the police officers.
One of the officers in the video claimed that the detainee was allegedly under the influence of drugs and required medical assistance.
The man himself, in the video, actively pleaded for help while trying to resist the officers. Despite this, the police lifted him up and carried him toward the station exit amid the shouts of outraged passengers, after which the recording cut off.
The Kyiv Metro Police officially commented on the situation, providing a different account of the events.
According to law enforcement officials, the incident occurred on the morning of April 11 around 10:30 a.m., and the reason for the detention was a violation of the law.
As it turned out, police officers spotted a man at the station who is officially considered a violator of military registration requirements.
Upon seeing the law enforcement officers, the man attempted to flee, which prompted further use of force by the police.
Regarding the detainee’s lack of clothing, police assured that this was a deliberate act on the man’s part. According to official information, he began removing his clothes on his own immediately during the attempt to detain him.
