The Supreme Court has ordered the return of 18 hectares of land near the Dnipro River to the Kyiv community
The Supreme Court upheld the prosecutor's office's position and ruled that nearly 18 hectares of land near the Dnipro River should be returned to the local community.
This was reported by the prosecutor’s office.
The land in question consists of water reserve plots within the coastal protection zone of the Kaniv Reservoir, which, by law, cannot be privatized or developed.
As prosecutors established, the land was transferred to private ownership in violation of the law—allegedly due to the presence of real estate objects, which in fact did not correspond to reality. In reality, there were plans to build a cottage community on these territories.
The prosecutor’s office emphasized that such actions violate land and water legislation, as these plots are subject to special usage regulations and must remain in public ownership.
The Supreme Court denied the defendant’s request for a retrial and effectively put an end to the legal proceedings.
Measures are currently underway to return the land to community ownership.
Police exposed a 44-year-old businesswoman who had illegally occupied a plot of land in the Holosiivskyi National Nature Park and built a vacation home on it.
