Frosts are expected in Kyiv over the next few nights
On the night of April 30, as well as on May 1 and 2, ground frosts of 0–2° are forecast for Kyiv. Meteorologists have issued a Level I (yellow) warning due to potential damage to early-blooming fruit trees.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center on its official channel.
On April 30 and May 1, variable cloudiness is expected with a northwest wind of 5-10 m/s; nighttime temperatures will be 1-3°, while daytime temperatures will rise to 10-12°C. No precipitation is forecast for May 2; winds will be variable at 3-8 m/s, with nighttime temperatures remaining at 1-3°C and daytime temperatures warming up to 12-14°C.
The cold snap is occurring against the backdrop of general climatic instability in the region, forcing farmers to remain vigilant regarding the condition of their crops. Similar weather conditions have been observed in border regions of the Russian Federation, indicating the movement of cold air masses across Eastern Europe. The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center emphasizes the need to protect heat-loving crops during this period.
In Lviv, temperatures of 5–6° below freezing are forecast for April 30, and from 0° to 2° below freezing on May 1. Forecasters warn that such weather conditions may pose a serious threat, particularly to agriculture, and urge people to take the forecast into account when planning their activities.
