"Social tents" offering food at reduced prices have opened in Kyiv
"Social tents" continue to operate at agricultural fairs in the capital, where people can buy food at prices below the market average.
This was reported by the Official Portal of Kyiv.
The “social tents” offer a basic selection of products, including vegetables for borscht, dry goods such as grains and pasta, sunflower oil, and sugar.
The Kyiv City State Administration announced that ahead of Easter, they plan to expand the assortment to include items for a traditional holiday basket.
According to officials, the direct connection between producers and buyers helps keep prices in check and ensure the affordability of products for city residents.
According to the relevant department, products in these tents are sold 10–50% cheaper than the market average.
Throughout 2025, over 10,000 “social tents” were set up at city fairs, through which nearly 5,000 tons of products were sold.
As a reminder, a public outcry erupted in Kyiv over the city government’s plans to install a fountain on the site of the demolished Lenin monument at the intersection of Khreshchatyk and Taras Shevchenko Boulevard.
